Movement is the New Caffeine
Find Energy Through Movement (Even When You’re Exhausted)
I know how it feels to be running on empty, constantly pouring your energy into the people around you: friends, family, coworkers, etc. The thought of squeezing in a workout can feel impossible when you’re already tired. But what if the right kind of exercise could actually give you more energy instead of taking it away? Whaaaat?! Yes, girl, I’m for real. When we approach movement with intention, it can be a source of life, not just another item on our endless to-do list.
It’s easy to think that a workout has to be intense to “count,” but the truth is, sometimes the best workouts for boosting energy are the simplest. Research shows that even light to moderate exercise can increase energy levels by up to 20%, thanks to the increased circulation and release of endorphins that leave you feeling more awake and alive. A brisk walk outside, a 20-minute bodyweight circuit, or even a few stretches to get your blood flowing can wake up your body and lift your mood without draining the little energy you have left.
It’s not about pushing yourself to the limit every day; it’s about finding movement that feels good and leaves you feeling refreshed.
Think of it as pressing a reset button for your mind and body.
When you take just a few minutes (or 20 minutes for the challenge ) to move, you’re choosing to care for yourself in a way that overflows into every other part of your life. Did you know that regular physical activity can reduce fatigue by as much as 65%? It helps your body produce more mitochondria—the "power plants" inside your cells that generate energy.
So the next time you feel like skipping a workout because you’re too tired, ask yourself: What kind of movement could help restore me right now? Even if it’s just 5 minutes, start there. Trust that God will meet you in that small step and multiply the benefits (John 6:5-19)
You’ve already given so much of yourself to everyone else; it’s time to give a little back to you! And remember, it’s not about being perfect—it’s about being present, even in the small moments when you choose to move your body and breathe. You deserve that gift.
You’ve got this!
